If you work in a rural area, you may now be eligible for the Rural Retention Program premium adjustment (also known as the Geographic Differential Payment – GDP). After the 90-day claims submission window closes for the previous fiscal year, ending March 31st, payments for GDP are made annually.
A community’s isolation points will determine the amount payable.
The fee premium payable is adjusted for:
- Ophthalmology fee codes by a factor of 1.273
- Psychiatric fee codes by a factor of 1.782
Any services billed with dates within the fiscal year 2020/2021 have been paid and can be found under adjustment code GD on your next remittance. Being aware of premiums that you are eligible for will help make sure you are paid appropriately for all your work.
